Finding something that’s fun for all the family on a rainy day isn’t always easy. While the older kids might fancy a trip to the movies, the younger ones may be more interested in a game of bowling. Yet the adults might have something a little more relaxed in mind. That’s why mini golf is such a great choice as it caters to everyone’s likes and needs.

You’ll get some physical activity but not so much that you feel as though you’ve just ran the London marathon. Moreover, with an air of competition, mini golf is a great choice for families who like to aim for the top spot!

The problem is that a lot of mini golf areas are outdoors but this is no good in the rain or cold. In the UK, we are fortunate enough to have an excellent range of indoor mini golf attractions which are ideal for those days when the weather isn’t on your side. And in this guide, we’ll be introducing you to the cream of the crop!

Best UK Indoors Mini Golf

Treetop Adventure Golf – Various Locations

One of the best things about Treetop Adventure Golf isn’t only that it’s hugely attractive to kids and big kids alike but it also has four locations around the UK, so you’ll never be too far from one. With indoor mini golf in Birmingham, Manchester, Leicester and Cardiff, there’s plenty to keep you occupied no matter where you are in the country.

Treetop Adventure Golf is set in a makeshift jungle filled with varying levels of difficulty in terms of the holes. If you want something a little different, the atmosphere here will transport you to the tropics in no time. What’s more, there’s a bar and cafe to keep your tummy full and your thirst quenched.

Access to the indoor golf area doesn’t break the bank either with a family of four being able to enjoy all 18 holes for as little as £31.50. Even better, there’s no need to book, you can just turn up and get golfing!

Galactic Golf – Halifax

For kids and grown ups with a love of all things space; Galactic Golf in Halifax is definitely the place to be. It’s packed with galactic adventure spread across two 18 hole indoor courses. What’s great is that it isn’t only golf here so if you want a break from putting and swinging, there’s lots more to keep you entertained.

For example, the games wall is a major attraction and will certainly keep yours and your family’s competitive streaks alive. Moreover, there’s the opportunity to hire the venue for a party or special event. For adult groups, the cost of a party booking covers two rounds of golf as well as complimentary drinks. For the kids, everything from invites to sweet cones, food and drink to a dedicated party host is included.

Swingers Crazy Golf – London West End

Alright, here us out; the name might sound a little raunchy but Swingers Golf is a little more laid back than that. But that isn’t to say that you won’t have hours of fun here. The venue not only prides itself on being one of the best places to play indoor mini golf but also boasts some of the tastiest cocktails of any indoor sporting venue!

As with many other indoor mini golf places, Swingers gives you the chance to hire the venue for private parties such as birthdays, hen and stag dos, engagements, leaving parties or even just your next night out. What we really love is that every private event is catered to with a dedicated party host giving you exceptional service.

There’s some great food and drink on offer here too so you won’t be left feeling peckish or parched!

Ghetto Golf – Liverpool

One of the main attractions of Ghetto Golf is the stunning street art that adorns the venue. What’s more, you’ll be served some delicious BBQ food as you make your way around the course so you can combine the best of everything in one fell swoop.

Ghetto Golf is an over 18 attraction so it’s not ideal for families but for groups of adults looking for some fun, it’s a great location. Much of the enjoyment is based around the great British pastime of ‘having a drink’ and with your package, you’ll get free cocktails, shots and more, depending on which you book.

Other packages include food and the venue caters to a wide range of event types so it’s a great host no matter what the occasion.

The Lost City Adventure Golf – Nottingham

If you’re in the East Midlands then it would be criminal to pass up the opportunity to take the family to enjoy a round of mini golf at The Lost City Adventure in Nottingham. While we strongly believe that this is the best Lost City Adventure golf in the country, there are a further two locations in Belfast and Hull should you find yourself at a loose end when you’re visiting these cities.

Back to Nottingham and you’ll find a plethora of challenges on the two 18 hole courses based around the concept of city ruins deep in the jungle. What’s great is that the holes are geared towards all ages so while you may find some easy, others will present a real opportunity to show off your skill.

We love that The Lost City Adventure gives you the chance to enjoy a special event here. With cocktail mixing parties, stag and hen dos, festive events and even school trips, there’s something for everyone.

The Tiki bar provides visitors with a place to kick back, relax and enjoy some great food and drink in between rounds.

Puttstars Mini Golf – Leeds

Right up there in the heart of West Yorkshire we have Puttstars mini golf, Leeds which is a huge playground for grown ups and kids! With three courses, you have plenty to choose from and what’s even better is that there are a further two centres across the county in Harrow and York.

We think this is by far the best choice for kid’s birthday parties which includes a round of golf, food and drink as well as access to the other facilities in the centre. If your kids are a little older, Puttstars even hosts teen parties. And let’s not forget the grown ups who can enjoy special events and work parties; there really is something for everyone.

Bored of golf? Not to worry, Puttstars is also home to a fantastic amusement arcade where you can continue the competitiveness and perhaps win a prize. When you’re all played out, don’t forget to visit the on-site diner where you’ll find pizza, nachos, hot dogs and everything in between!

Junkyard Golf – Oxford

If you’re a group of adults trying to find something a little different to fill up your free time then Junkyard golf is a great choice. While Junkyard does cater to under 18s on a Friday or Sunday before 6pm, an adult must be present. For the rest of the week, it’s adult’s playtime!

You can simply turn up on the day but we wouldn’t strongly recommend booking in advance as this is a very popular attraction. The mini golf fun is spread across three crazy courses; a junkyard, the jungle and a creepy carnival!

Junkyard golf also boasts a well stocked bar with a great selection of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails. The attraction uses the hashtag #loserbuysthedrinks so if you’re up for a fun night out and a little healthy competition, we’re sure this is the place for you!

Inplay Golf – Bristol

For those in the South West, or if you’re just visiting, Inplay golf offers a totally different golfing experience; everything is 100% virtual. While this isn’t mini golf in the traditional sense of the word, it does give those who are serious about the sport the chance to practice their skills without the need to head to the driving range.

There are five golf simulators and what’s great is that you still get to use real balls and clubs so it’s remarkably similar to playing on the course. For families with a golf-loving parent, this is a great way to get your kids interested in the game and is something a little more serious for sports fans.

What’s more, there are PGA tour staff on site that offer lessons either individually or as a group. That’s something a little different for your next outing with your friends!

Conclusion

While the United Kingdom may be compact in size, it’s brimming with a multitude of enjoyable activities. Given the well-known unpredictability of the weather, indoor attractions like mini golf should definitely be on your to-do list.

Whether you’re seeking a family-friendly outing or a night out with friends, the UK boasts numerous outstanding indoor mini golf venues.
